How do you celebrate your Mother or Grandmother?  The woman who always made the best chicken noodle soup, knew just how to kiss those owies, and loved you even during those awkward junior high years?  While all the thanks in the world may never be enough, this cake may, at least, be a step in the right direction.  Royal icing lace covering colored fondant with a draping of flowers will make this birthday for her.

This Birthday Boy asked for green, and that's what he got!  A cake like this is as much of a present as any of the toys he will get, and this present tastes good too!  Such a special event like this five year old's birthday calls for a special cake.

Flash Back to the New Year

This was the fun centerpiece to a retro-themed New Year's party. The VW Bus stands against a 3 layers deep, 8" top. Set atop a brightly colored 12" square layer, this cake feeds almost 100. Under the layers of brightly colored fondant is a chocolate lover's dream come true: double chocolate cake, with a chocolate buttercream filling. A feast for the eyes, and soul!
